- Make the most of natural lighting where possible.
- Switch off lights in any rooms not in use including fluorescent tubes. Turning off tubes does not mean more electricity is used when they are turned back on.
- Flickering fluorescent tubes use up more energy. If you see one, report it.
- Save electricity by activating power saving settings and turn off computers, lights and equipment when not in use.
- Dress according to the weather and reduce dependency on heating and cooling.
- Eliminate personal heaters and fans. Contact building manager if there are issues with central heating or cooling of the area.
- Use switch off stickers to remind people to turn equipment off after use where applicable.

- Before purchasing new office furniture or equipment, consider used items from furniture reused program or through University networks like AdmiNet.
- Make socially responsible purchases, including locally-produced, fair trade and organic products for events and kitchen use.
