Let's celebrate!
Since launching during O-Week early in 2021, our Plastic Free Dining initiative has seen the implementation of a new three-bin system,promoted dine in and BYO in order to reduce waste, and taken us towards our goal of 100% compostable single-use packaging.
We couldn’t have done it without the incredible support and commitment of the UNSW community and of course our retailers. We would like to recognise the efforts of our retailers to phase out single-use plastics and thank them for supporting Plastic Free Dining.
Plastic Free Dining awards methodology
UNSW has introduced a new rating system which awards a gold, silver or bronze rating reflecting the progress of each retailer in support of Plastic Free Dining. The new awards system also tells our students and staff where they can dine plastic free on campus.
