Since launching during O-Week early in 2021, the Plastic Free Dining initiative has helped retailers provide BYO incentives to UNSW community while shifting their packaging from plastic to compostable options.
We couldn’t have done it without the support and commitment of our retailers. The Plastic Free Dining Awards recognise the efforts of our retailers to phase out single-use plastics and thank them for supporting Plastic Free Dining.
Methodology
UNSW has introduced a rating system which awards a gold, silver or bronze rating reflecting the progress of each retailer in support of Plastic Free Dining.
This rating will be updated in 2025 to increase the support of reuse over single-use at UNSW.
