It’s on! Global Climate Change Week 19-25 October line-up released

19 October 2015

Activities at UNSW are being coordinated by Business School Learning and Teaching advisors Shanil Samarakoon and Dr Louise Fitzgerald. “GCCW is a great opportunity to pull together the different climate change action groups at UNSW,” says Shanil.

 Shanil and Louise have organised a stellar line-up of panellists to discuss Our Future Prospects, and are thrilled to be able to screen the Australian documentary Blackhole, which focuses on the Whitehaven mine in NSW. “This is a very important film  as it provides an Australian perspective on the future of coal,  corporate responsibility and the impact of mining  and climate change on communities ,” explains Shanil. “The film is being introduced by Greens MP Dr Mehreen Faruqi, a former colleague of mine at UNSW and two young activists from the Blockade will be part of a Q&A panel after the screening '.

 Other activities during the week include:

   *   Film screening of Disruption

  *   Facepainting with Fossil Free UNSW

  *   A divestment Q&A: Paris, Money and Climate Change

  *   Jewellery making and creative upcycling workshop

  *   Chalking around campus to raise awareness

  *   Pop up sewing workshop
